On the East coast (or "Sunrise coast") there are many beautiful beaches like the "Porto das Dunas"  (25 km from Fortaleza), with a famous Tourist Complex named "Beach Park". The most famous beach is the "Canoa Quebrada" (156 km from Fortaleza) - perhaps the best time to visit it is on a week end.

Beautiful craft products, made by the Ceará’s womenfolk, are found in the Prainha, being 26 km from Fortaleza.

Another 'must see' attraction is the "Iguape Beach", a fishing village 45 km from Fortaleza. The landscape of coconut palms, lakes and dunes is simply enchanting.

On the West coast lie the high dunes of the "Tabuba Beach", 35 km from Fortaleza. These can be crossed by “buggies”.
